Wildhurst Winery
Wildhurst. The name evokes the spreading California native oaks that dot the vineyard acreage, and the zest for nature and simple living that characterize the lovely rural area of Lake County. In this spirit, Wildhurst makes direct, hand-crafted wines from a winemaker’s passion and a farmer’s love of his land.
Wildhurst Winery was started in 1991 in Kelseyville, California, by Myron and Marilyn Holdenried with their personal friends, the Collins brothers. The Holdenrieds operate the day to day business. Wines are made from grapes grown by the Holdenrieds. Grapes are also purchased from other growers for certain varieties.
Wildhurst Winery formed an alliance with Briarcliff Marketing of San Francisco in 2004. Briarcliff bought the label for Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc wines subject to certain production parameters. The company bought the inventory at that time and do the wholesale statewide and national marketing for those wines
Winery capacity: 200,000 gallons of stainless tanks, 2,000 barrels, permit in process for 65,000 case annual production, estimated permit date of 4/1/12 (owner must construct waste water ponds per the conditions of the permit.

Green Valley AVA
Sebastopol, Ca ~ Green Valley AVA
Located within the very prestigious Green Valley AVA, is this wonderful 18.19 acre parcel. Green Valley is one of the smallest appellations in Sonoma County and a sub-appellation to the much larger Russian River Valley AVA.
The current owner purchased the subject property in 1985. Within a few years, a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom residence was constructed that is now home to the current owner and his family. The property was then developed to produce nursery certified root stock and then in 1992, an acre was planted to Pinot Noir. The results on the vineyard planting were promising so in 1999 another nine acres were planted. The vineyard spacing is 8 x 4 (about 1,302 vines per acre) which are drip irrigated and frost protected by a two year old diesel operated wind machine. Historically, the owner has farmed the vineyard. The crop is managed to produce high quality fruit, so crop yields are kept to about 2.5 tons of grapes in a normal harvest year.
In addition to the farm house and vineyards, other improvements include an approximate 1,536 sq. ft. Ag building with insulated walls, nine foot ceiling height and cement flooring. The wood framed structure has electrical service (no water) with a composition roof.
A fully permitted steel winery building of approximately 1,620 sq. ft. was completed on site to produce 2,000 cases of wine on an annual basis. The building has a metal roof with night fans for cooling, is fully insulated, and a fire sprinkler system installed, meeting fire safety codes. The winery permit does not allow public tastings or events, but guests can visit the facility on a day appointment basis. There is also a large crush pad area on the north side of the winery building. The sale of the property includes farming and winery equipment.
